Jalantro combines the Texas-Mexican flavors of jalapeños, Anaheim peppers, and cilantro to create a rich cremosa (minus the cream) that's perfect for dipping, cooking, marinating, or as an addicting complement to tacos.
It begins and ends in Texas. We (married founders Erick and Josie Gill Schlather) both grew up in bicultural San Antonio, and would often travel to West Texas to visit Josie’s family’s West Texas property, which had been a working ranch since the 1870s. After a day spent exploring the Sierra Diablo Mountains, we kicked back to enjoy cervezas and a duo of flavor-packed hot sauces that had been heritage staples at the ranch — and in Northern Mexico’s home kitchens — for generations. We were inspired: “These need to be shared with the world.”
After many recipe successes… and a few failures, we have created our own versions of those salsas especiales, ready to be served and shared around your own table. We hope you’ll love them as much as we do.
